For cars with an electronic fuel injection-system (which need a trigger pulse from the ignition), a 123/MERCEDES-4-R-V-IE is available.

It contains more information about motor- and distributor numbers, static timing and the advance-curves, the specifications of the 123-ignition and a step-by-step description of the installation procedure.In addition to the information in the installation manual the following curve is available:Curve F - distributor no. VJU4BR17 - Borgward Isabella 1,493 lts. 4 Cyl. WITH vacuumWith the Borgward Isabella it is UTMOST important to static time the ignition at TDC. In case of fine adjusting with the stroboscope this must be done above 3200 rpm at 34 degrees.

Although used coils all look alike, they should be viewed with suspicion since one cannot tell from the outside whether, and how often they were exposed to overheating in the past. Installing the 123ignition system will ensure that the coil will never be overheated again in the future. We recommend the 123 Blue Coil.
